Uh, beer's always been cheaper than gas here. And I'm talking good beer, not Bud, Miller and its ilk.

Maybe instead of hydrogen or hybrid vehicles, they should make them run on beer!

My Dad, for a brief couple of days actually had one of Chrysler's experimental turbine cars in the early 60's. I said,"Dad, just think, if you were going to a party and ran out of fuel, you could pour Scotch in it and drive on." His reply," I'd crawl first." Darn, I love a beer, most times, most any beer!It does somehow taste better in May at Indy blended with methanol fumes, but for that 4-5 days it isn't cheap.

I'm very confussed as to where you all get your beer if it is indeed cheaper than gasoline.

So, I can buy 2 1 pint (UK) 0.9 Fl oz English Ale for $8.99 USD,

So, cut that in half and convert the 1 pint 0.9 fl oz to gallons. That works out to 0.1567 Gallons (US)

So, I pay $4.49 USD for 0.1567 gallons of fine english ale in the great US of A. So that works out to $28.65 per gallon. I'll take gasoline in the car thanks.

Or in Canada, I can get 6-341 ml bottles of Alexander Keith's India Pale Ale for $10.80 (plus tax) so again lets work it out.

2046 ml or 2.046 L of beer for $10.80 that works out to $5.278 per litre of beer.

Of course we all know that gas in Canada is about $1.20-$1.60 per litre so who's kidding who.

I't was ment as a joke.

Beer will always be more costly than gas, because "they" know that if need be, we'd all walk to get the beer before gas got that expensive.

Wouldn't work--the cars would swell around the middle and refuse to go anywhere!

Belgian beer's a bit more expensive than gas, but (let's say) a liter of Grolsch (perfectly servicable lager), ie two half-liter 'Beugels', including the bottle deposit, costs 1.05 euros. So, what, about $1.20? Fuel prices are currently at idiot levels, around $1.80 per liter (roughly 4 liters to the gallon), but still.

We just got back from visiting our daughter at Indiana University during Little 500 weekend. No gas involved in the little 5 but a whole lot of beer.
